JOB POSTING – BOOK BINDER 3 – FULL TIME
THE OPPORTUNITY
We currently have an opportunity for the right person to start a career with Western Canada’s leading print marketing company in BC’s largest bindery and finishing department. This Bookbinder 3 position is an excellent step into an in-demand trade with a full-service, industry-leading bindery department. The right candidate has opportunities to advance in the trade.
THE POSITION
The BOOKBINDER 3’s responsibilities include:
• Working on various bindery and finishing equipment
• Boxing and palletizing finished goods
• Moving pallets and bundles of print material to stage for production
• Work capably at the direction of your supervisor
• Work in accordance with Mitchell’s Standard Operating Procedures covering both quality of product and Health & Safety protocols
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE IS:
• Comfortable working in a custom manufacturing environment
• Flexible to work various shifts
• excellent communication skills
• Well-organized
• Reliable
• Able to accomplish physical duties, lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Capable to follow directions
• Able to work well under pressure and deadlines
• A team player
COMPENSATION
This Union position provides competitive medical and dental plans, and a pension plan.
$20.00 per hour + shift differentials (3 shift operation)
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Minimum Grade 12
Printing Industry experience an asset, but not required.

THE POSITION
Working as part of Western Canada’s premier Heat Set web offset press teams, your role is to support the exceptional quality and results expected from Mitchell Press by our clients:
• Ensure project materials are accurately set for uninterrupted production
• Learn key aspects of print production for our client’s high-end magazines, catalogs and custom marketing materials
• Work in accordance with Mitchell’s Standard Operating Procedures covering both quality of product and Health & Safety protocols
• Other duties as directed by your supervisor
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE IS:
• Comfortable working in a custom manufacturing environment
• Able to learn and retain in-house training provided
• Flexible and able to work various shifts
• An excellent communicator and able to follow directions
• Well-organized, detail oriented and reliable
• Able to accomplish physical duties, lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Mechanically inclined and thrives in a team-centered, fast paced environment.
COMPENSATION
This Union position provides extended health and dental benefits as well as a pension plan.
Pay rate dependent on experience:
$27.13 per hour (after 1 year) + shift differentials (4 shift operation)
$24.41 per hour (6 to 12 mos.) + shift differentials
$21.70 per hour (0 to 6 mos.) + shift differentials
